Win 98 SE, but no registry key

I built my computer today and realized that the WinXP cd I had was just an upgrade. So I dug out an old copy of 98 SE and tried to install it. It copied all of the files to the Disk and restarted. All I have left to do is put to key in so I can use it, but I have lost it over the years. I tried to boot from the XP upgrade, but It just brings me to the 98 SE setup screen, even if it asks me to boot from CD. Is there any way to bypass this? Help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Can't help you with a Reg.Key....but you can probly find one yourself.
Goto use the search terms win98se lost key and browse the results.
Try the first link,you might get lucky...

i followed one guys instructions and it sorta worked, i could now boot from the XP upgrade disc. It turns out 98 wasnt really installed, but I just needed to put the 98 cd in when XP asked me to. I guess that just shows proof that I have a previous version of windows. I guess i could've just did that to start thanks again for the help.
