I've just upgraded to XP but found my keyboard was not working so I used the 'Search for new hardware' option and it worked fine until I restarted my PC and had to go through the whole process again.I figured it may have been my cheap old keyboard so I upgraded to a Microsoft one,downloaded the latest drivers and tried again but I still get the same problem.When I look in keyboard properties it mentions a CODE 10 error,what is this? Would upgrading my BIOS help?

more likely motherboard drivers would help... it's not often you get a rescorse conflict with a keyboard, but sounds like you managed to do so. Just download all related drivers for your motherboard and install, if that doesn't take care of your problem, you should see if there is a Reset Device Configuration option in your bios.

I've updated my BIOS but I still get the CODE 10 error.Once Windows has loaded I can do I new hardware search and find it and get it working no problem,its just when I restart my PC that I have to do it all again.

Teststrips was referring to motherboard drivers rather than a BIOS update - you can get these drivers from the manufacturer of your motherboard chipset (probably either intel, AMD, SiS or Via).
