dMC Audio CD Input

Postby poisonedchalice » Sun Sep 12, 2004 2:09 pm

Put simply, it won't load!!! :| lol The window opens, but I'm left with the hour glass cursor while it tries to sort itself out! It's been fine since I downloaded it, was only today that this problem occurred. I can't find any info in the dbpoweramp FAQ that relate to my problem. I even tried uninstalling & redownloading, but it made no difference! Soooo, I'm guessing it's something my comp is missing or a corrupted 'something'?!

I've never had so many niggly problems with my comp as I'm having now.....it's driving me up the wall! lol None of them seem related, but knowing my luck...... :|

Anyhoo, if anyones had the same sort of problem, or has any suggestions, I'd be extremely grateful!!!!! :)

Thanx

Have you tried doing a diagnostic startup in msconfig, or starting in safe mode, and then seeing if it runs?

Ooh, deja vu!!!! lmao

I've spent the last few hours doing disk clean up, deleting loads of unnecessary programs/files, defraggin, and a thorough scan disk......nothing helped.....so I guess a diognostic start up is my only option!!! But, it'll have to wait til the mornin coz I'm at my wits end at the moment!!!! *laughs hysterically*

:P

I'll let you know how it goes!!!

Thanx Restek!!!

Hellooooo again!!! lol

It's the dbpoweramp music converter, the CD input program comes with it! (as you've probably already gathered!!!! )
The converter is working spot on, it's just the input program that's playing up!

I really appreciate your help!!! I'm not gonna get beaten by a bit of software!!!!! :| lmao

ok, finally got around to doing diagnostic start up, turned up zilch, I tried selective start up also, with the same results.
The CD Input program still doesn't respond, not even in safe mode, and still freezes my system both in safe mode & normal.

Start up & shut down are slow and unpredicable, sometimes comp boots ok, if slow, and other times won't load at all. Shut downs are just as frustrating, extremely slow (I have a 2-3 second delay on shutdown normally to ensure things are given time to be written to disk, but even taking that into consideration, it's taking longer than normal) Im doing more & more improper shut downs than ever before! Aaaaaargh! lol

It's an extremely long shot, especially as I know nothing about them, n I'm probs gonna look like a right wally for even suggesting it  but I have an isolated .inf file that was causing problems in my add/remove program. It seems a coincidence that most of the problems I'm having now started after I isolated that file. I can't see the connection, but I just don't know!!! (have I made a big enough fool of myself yet, or should I carry on?! :P lmao)

LAYOUT.INF
Disk Layout file for Windows ME Setup

There's all sorts in it, but MOSTLY .ani & .bmp altho there are some Drivers, & a lot of .dll, pretty much a good mix of every file you can think of really!!! lol (you can tell I have no idea bout these things can't you!!!!! hehe  )
