Writing a new OS is a huge undertaking,
million of lines of code would be needed.

I am currently working on converting a Kids Safe web browse
that I wrote in visual basic into C++.
It’s almost 3000 lines of code in visual basic and
it will und up being about 5000 lines in C++.

I originally wrote this program so I would know where my two girls were surfing
once I gave them internet access. My browser checks a database of approved site
before it loads the page in question.
If the page is not in the database then they cannot surf there.
The database is password protected and encrypted so only I can add sites to it.

I have about 500 hours into this project so far and I have about 100 more houres to go.

Wow - you must have approved loads of websites 8-o I know it's less secure, but in the ineterests of letting them find out new things wouldn't it be easier to use an app which merely prevents access to blacklisted sites & sites with keywords?
