Power switch error!

Postby Mission » Sat Oct 16, 2004 10:44 pm

Alright so my friend got this really rad viper gaming case and an asus mobo. We dont have all the parts yet to complete it though. It came with the PS too. So I plugged the PS in, and to the motherboard (Asus) and plugged the power switch in. When I press the power button, one of the case fans LED's lights up, and starts to spin then stops and the computer doesnt run. Is it because of connectors or parts not plugged in? I plugged in all that was needed that runs my computer O.K but it doesnt work on his.

Would anyone explain to me whats up with it?

Thanks in advance,
Mish

If there's no CPU installed there's nothing to boot-up.... Image

Did the Motherboard come with a pre-installed Chip and Heat Sink?
Is there a Hardrive installed? Was the IDE cable connected correctly?

If you answered NO to any of the above questions...you'll get exactly what you saw...nothing ...

lol alright. Its because when I built my computer, All I needed was a power supply, a mobo and a power switch and it was able to turn on (Not run correctly tho). And he has a CPU and what I listed above and it wouldnt turn on. I guess its depends on the mobo is t?

Thanks,
mish
