Best Firewall?

Postby Limp » Thu Oct 21, 2004 7:15 pm

What is the best software firewall? Is there a site other than GRC that rates them? GRC hasent been updated since last october! Also what would be the advantages of using Hardware Firewalls/NAT Routers over software firewalls? I use Norton Internet security 2003. It got rated good at GRC but that was a while ago. Thanx!

I use a hardware firewall. My router has the firewall built-in.

I don't like installing unnecessary software on my pc. The router is serving many purposes other than just a firewall, so this is acceptable for my personal needs

I'm with Geekgirl, I have a router setup also. :D

Norton Internet security is good it should stop anything comming in or going out.

I recomend Zone Alarm when asked only because it's free.

I have panda antivirus platinum and that has a firewall with it. Works fine. Had a glitch in it a while back but we managed to fix it. Works well tho.
