Who has the slowest PC?

Postby PCguy » Mon Nov 01, 2004 11:27 pm

It has to be still in daily use to qualify.

I just retired a PII 450 and a PIII 700. So now my slowest is a P4 1.5

I think I may win this one.... I have a Pentium II 233, 64meg Ram, 10 gig Maxtor hard drive, Diamond Monster 3D II 8 MB (EDO RAM  ) Graphics Card. I use it for storage and to play old games that wont work in XP (Rainbow6, Red alert :P ).

one of my customers just upgraded thier server about a month ago... they run a unix, text based enviroment with 20 users on their self-developed software. They were still on a 386 with a 500 meg HD (which was an upgrade about 2 years ago b/c I couldn't find a 200 meg drive). All of the machines connecting to this old beast were dummy terminals. They kept 15 dummy terminals on their new system, but now have a new server and 5 new workstations.... which increased their computing power about ten thousand percent.

I'm sure glad they upgraded b/c I didn't know how I was going to find parts for that old klunker.
