Windows Messenger drove me nutz... I found a good way of getting shut of it.

It works beautifully and is fully reversible. Why would you want to reverse it? I hear u ask.... you actually need it to gain remote assistance on XP... which is a pain

I would still check to see if it was disabled. Click start, programs, administrative tools, scroll down and highlight messenger, right-click the highlighted line and select properties, click the stop button, click disable or manual in the startup type scroll bar, click ok.

I did all that with mine.... with expert help too... and it kept rolling along... it drove me half mad.

The above fix is brilliant :)
