Changing display setting in Safe Mode

Is it possible to get a 1024x768 resolution in Safe Mode? I'm stuck with 640x480, and the screen is HUGE...and it's hurting my eyes. I can't see the outer edges. I have to guess where to click to close or minimize a window.

Nope..your video drivers do not load in safe mode.
