Did you check your Master/Slave jumpers on the new HD and the CDROM?

No Emergency Floppy Disk (learning the hard way) and i have tried changing the first boot to the CDROM but I will try it again and see if it helps. Thanks. I'll get back to you if it works.

To PCGUY,
The new HD is SATA so that isn't an issue and like i said, the whole package was working perfectly before and I haven't changed or touched any jumpers at all.

a smooth install of Windows 2000 is done on a cd boot not a floppy boot.

I think that Junior has the cure--get into the bios and change the first boot device to cdrom.

There is a possibility that the bios is messed up. Usually there is a jumper on the motherboard that will clear the cmos--it sets factory defaults--you usually switch the connector from 1-2 to 2-3 and back--give it a try. It nukes all of the settings, but it can pull your a*s out of a fire if your fooling around with overclocking
