This link might help---these are backdoor passwords for a lot of manufacturers

If you open the computer shell, Compacq usually has a schematic diagram stuck on the inside that gives settings and locations of jumpers

Your lookiing for something labled "clear cmos" Its usually a three prong jumper--where you move it from the 1-2 connection to the 2-3 and then back to 1-2 to clear the cmos.

Sorry, I didn't realize that it was a laptop--that an entirely different animal.

Laptops have an anti theft device thats part of the motherboard. see this link

A while back I advised someone else of this issue and he later came back and said that he was able to prove his ownership with Compaq and they helped him reset it.

Hope this helps

My Graphics Card In my laptop is an ATi Mobility Radeon IGP 340M With 64mb shared from the main ram,i looked up on this website and it said that you could make it to 128mb shared if you go into the bios and set it thats why i want to get into the bios. Is there any software that you can download to set the memory (shared) for the graphics card higher??

Thanks.....Matsta
