Cannot compose in Hotmail or Yahoo mail

Postby RioKhanada » Tue Dec 14, 2004 1:46 am

Hello again,

I have another silly question, and I hope I've put this in the right forum. I am unable to compose/reply/forward to any e-mails I receive in Hotmail or Yahoo Mail. The text box is blanked out -- I cannot even put my cursor in it.

I have Windows XP Professional and am running IE 6 SP1. I added both sites to my "trusted" list to see if that would help, as well as enabling Active X controls on the 3 choices it gives you under Internet options. Is there something else I could do? :?:

Thanks again!

Can you try this in another browser like Firefox and see if that works?

Also, try deleting all of your temp files in IE.

Howdy!

Well, I had sooooooooo much trouble with getting my IE to work recently, that I am not too keen on trying to d/l another browser for fear I'll screw it up again.

I did clean out my cookies and temp files...but it still does it. I also noticed a little "error" icon on the bottom left hand corner. It usually says something about a script error, or that I'm not allowed, or some such nonsense.

Bill Gates really is a demon spawn.

Any other suggestions????

Downloading another browser will not interfere with IE... and it may solve your problem.

I am an IE fan *ducks* hehe... but is actually not all that different or scary.. give it a try :)

I would strongly suggest getting Firefox 1.0. I've used IE for years, and after switching to Firefox I couldn't be happier. It's 9000 times more secure than IE.

My stepdad had an issue with composing in Hotmail. Someone else on his PC had messed with something in MSN Messanger, and when I uninstalled that he was able to use Hotmail fine. Don't know if that'll help, but it's worth a shot, you can always reinstall MSN.
