Is this POSSIBLE?

Postby Daninku » Sat Dec 18, 2004 9:52 pm

About 1 month ago, I was having problems with my memory. Infact I had two sticks (256MB + 128MB), then after a while my PC starts to reboot on its own. And it was the 256MB that was causing trouble.

About 2 weeks ago I have re-installed windows, and re-installed several drivers which normally I do not install such as IDE drivers, Chipset drivers and more. About 10 minutes ago, I had the PC Case open, so I took the opportunity and tried to re-put the 256MB stick.

And fortunately, and I am finding this strange, I am using the PC, browsing, using applications etc... and the PC still running smoothly with no restarts. Forgot to say that after replacing the RAM and rebooted, I saw something like UPDATING ECSD...

So is it possible that installing those drivers helped this Memory stick? Or was that ECSD? 'Hmmm... I don't know if it will reboot after posting this message lol'

Here are a couple of articles I read that may be of some help to you.

Also here is a program that you can use to test your memory.
