I really wouldn't mess with overclocking unless you really know what you're doing. You could cause damage to the motherboard/processor. I have a 700 mhz Celeron, and I can run old games like Half-Life and Vice City just fine on a lower graphics setting. I don't notice much of a difference in graphics on the lower settings anyways. Especially since you're on a budget, as I am, any damage to my processor or my computer would put me in a real bad mood  Therefore, I choose to play my games on the Playstation 2 and I play Counter-Strike every now and then on my PC until I can afford to upgrade.

I don't know what you're going to accomplish but...

Go to start...run...type in cmd and hit enter. Then type

start X:\address of the game\filename.exe /high

replace X with the drive the folder of the game is located on, then the folder the game is in, then the actual exe you use to open the game, followed by /high

You said you needed an explanation :)

I don't know what it's going to do though
