I got a call at 2:30 am this morning from my friend he’s OK!

He said the reason he had not called sooner is because he broke his leg
trying to help rescue someone and the hospital he is in still has no phones.
He told me that he was using someone’s cell phone to place the call
and that his phone went dead just as he was calling his Mom.
He told me that he had just talked to his Mom and she asked that
he call me to let me know he is OK.
He also said that he lost his passport and does not know when he will be able to come home.

So when I got off the phone with him I called his Mom to see what we can do about
getting him home. She wanted to try and go get him but did not have the monies to fly out and bring him home.
After a number of calls the Red Cross told me that if he has a birth certificate and someone identifying him he can fly.
So I got his Mom on a flight leaving this morning to go get him and bring him back.
With any luck they should both be home in a couple of days.
