IE closes Imediatly. -After registry editing-

Postby systemax » Sat Jan 01, 2005 8:49 pm

I had a few spyware programs, like saap.exe, and admill service. I looked up how to delete them, and it said to delete their traces in the registry and uninstall all traces. I did so, and now my internet explorer does not work. It will load up to my home page, but after i enter a different site it closes and asks to send an error report. Basically i hate internet explorer, and never use it, because i have firefox, but i dont want to leave this problem unsolved. How can i repair it?

Also, my system restore never works. I select a date and hit restore, it goes through everything then at the last step of the restart it says it can not be restored to that date and to try again. WHy is this, its so frustrating!!!!

Part of what is happening with you system, is that you probably removed the program and missed some of the stuff in the run part of the registry
(Hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run)

I suggest that you download hijack and post your log. here is a link to Hijack

The errors are for files that the program cannot find. And since its a text file--it probably means that it harvested some email addresses

I don't know the status of your virus software or whether or not you've run spybot, it sound like a trojan of some sort that you 've got
