Reseat the ram memory and make sure that the auxilery (no spell chekc heer) power cable is hooked into the motherboard from the power supply--there are TWO power hook ups from the power supply to the mother board. Its very easy to overlook.

My guess is that you don't have the secondary hooked up or worse, the power supply doesn't have the secondary power adapter.

You could also have hooked up the switches wrong. try removing them all and starting the system with a screwdriver, touch the two terminals for powerup.

Good Luck

PS You haven't messed up your cpu-- the AMD's tend to smoke when they go, they melt right into the motherboard

I got both hookups hooked up, the 20 PIN ATV and the 4 PIN ATX, both are hooked up. My power button must be right, because I plugged in the computer last night, hit the power button on the front of the case and it did work. The hard drive busy lighto n the front of the case, did not light up at all ever, the CD-RW did not spin up, I didnt hear the hard Drive working either. What do you think it is now?? I am taking it into a PC shop today.

Okay.. on a total hunch here.. disconnect ALL the parallel cables from your hard drives and cd-rom drives...

then power up.. I'm guessing you'll get something.. and that you've accidentally plugged one of the cables in the wrong way round.. possibly on the motherboard..

best of luck :)

I am not a total moron here lol. I said this was my first build, didnt say it was my first time around a PC  :)

I checked all my cables before and after I booted. I just took it into a local PC shop here, they have roughly 20 computers in before mine so I am looking at a week minimum before I know what is wrong. I iwll keep you all posted. Thanks for helping and stayin positive lol!
