WELL......CRAP!

Hey everyone. You all remember how my PC wouldnt post? I thought the core was cracked, so I took it into a local repair shop. Then yesterday, they call me and say, we have news for you. I'm thinking "oh great, its probably the Video Card is shot" then they said "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT!!!!!!!" One of the Techs fired it up without even doing anything and it worked fine! He installed Windows and delted it of course because I did not pay for it, but the installation worked! The PC was fine! He said I didn't do anything wrong either.

So that means: MY FIRST BUILD WAS A SUCCESS!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

I was on it last night for 3 hours, installing Windows XP Pro, and my Vid, Soundcard drivers and everything.

I am still trying to figure out how to disable my Motherboard sound, because it isnt letting my soundcard play anything.

Also, can someone tell me why i paid $625 for my video card, and when im playing 18 Wheels Of Steel Pedal To The Metal on highest graphics settings, its all smooth and nice. As soon as I turn my mirrors on, IT LAGS!!!!! THIS IS A $625 VIDEO CARD WITH 256MB DDR3, WHY IS IT DOIGN THIS????????? I think the drivers need to be updated, it isnt reaching tis full potential right now I can tell you that lol.

I even got a few games installed  will keep you all posted.

I would appreciate some help on the sound issue and the vidcard issue. Thanks!

To disable your onboard sound:
In your BIOS setup, arrow accross until you select the Advanced and press enter
Now arrow down to Chipset Configuration and press enter.
Arrow down until you select OnBoard AC’97 Audio and press enter
Select Disabled for the onboard AC’97 Audio feature and press enter.
Press F10
Type y and press enter

As for the video card I would say yes update the drivers

okay.. the reason your game gets jerky when you turn mirrors on is because effectiovely you are asking the PC to calculate twice as many polygons... please bear in mind that no matter how top of the range your somuter is.. it's NOTHING compared to the systems that games developers use to create the games in the first place..
