Problem with Games!

Postby HMMS » Tue Jan 11, 2005 8:18 pm

Hi all!
I dont know the reason for some "little crashes" in games like "Medal of Honor:Pacific Assault" or "Far Cry"....in certain game zones that have less graphics charge, my PC its ok...bur when i am in a certain area more full of graphics, my computer seems to slow down crashing 1 sec or less. When i press the fire button, that not happens in real time...the weapon shoots 1 sec later or more. In games i choose the option "Mouse Smoothness" but my mouse seems not to respond fast to movement (mouse delay)...with that option off i think its even worse.
Sometimes, after exit game, my windows shows a message like, "Virtual Memory too Low"...but i have increased Page File, and the game runs bad too.
For example in MOH:PA, i run (1024x768) with "texture detail:medium" and "model detail:low", and i still have the problems i've wrote.
I have the latest directx and updated graphics drivers and i've defraged the disk.
Ok, System Specs:
-MotherBoard ASUS A7V8X-X;
-AMD Athlon XP 2200+ 1.79 GHz;
-256 MB RAM;
-ATI Gigabyte RADEON 9550 128MB;
With my Graphics card, i was not supposed to run the game at high settings?
Sorry my english.
Thx 4 Help.

I don't run those games mates, but have you read the games system requirements? I have the same problem with NFSU 1, and got the same message of Virtual Memory yesterday, but that does not seem to help eighter. I have decreased the graphics detail and its better but not 100%.

I know those games you have mentioned need high graphics, so pay attention.

I have 512 ram n farcry is still a bitch to run!
I would def asume thats the problem, not enough ram or you are trying to run your games too high. Also farcry has lush graphics so it'l also need a good g-card.

Hope thats helped mate

So....considering the problem is caused by lack of RAM, how much RAM i should have to make my PC good enough too play that type of games?
My Graphics Card is fair enough?
which is the better way to configure the paging file, attending that i have 256 MB RAM and a 60G Disk?
I know......lots of questions......but i have to ask! :mrgreen:
Thx!
