Ram upgrade

Postby tasmo3 » Wed Jan 19, 2005 1:18 am

I want to add RAM to a Dell Inspiron 3700 laptop. It has a 128 MB 100 MHz chip. I have a 64 MB 133 MHz chip from another laptop. Can I add the 64 MB chip?

The 64 MB 133 Mhz chip should be backwards compatible to 100 Mhz
I say try it.

Hey, a question regarding RAM, it's kinda off topic but a simple question.

How can you check if the RAM is compatible with your motherboard, lets say you have an old system like mine and at the present you have a 128MB PC133 and you want to add another 128. I go and buy another stick, and perhaps I take the computer with me, then when you go home after about an hour or 2, the PC will start to crash or restart on its own. It happened to me, and when I have phoned back they told me that they don't accept used RAM sticks.

Is there any tricks?
