I try and do all of ours once a month .
We have a lot of furry/feathered pets so our systems get dirty fast.

I take mine out to my workshop about every 2 or 3 months and blast it out with about 100 psi of air from my compressor.

If you don't change your furnace filter twice a year, you'll find that your computer will help out getting rid of the dust.

You need to vacum the carpets more often if you have pets, cat fur really messes with the small fans on some of the video cards and on the motherboard (northbridge fan)

compressor

Postby badpolarbear » Thu Feb 10, 2005 10:07 pm

Gecko, since you were aware of water trap and oiler you should get a laugh out of this. The piston is a brake piston from a truck, the tank is a water tank with the bladder removed, an industrial pressure shut off switch and an oiler and industrial regulator. Here is the funny part. I went to a plumber one day and asked for a piece of inch and a half steel pipe with threads on both ends and two end caps to make a water trap. Wouldnt you know the cops showed up at my door thinking I was constructing a pipe bomb. I am kind of happy with it though, its my own and I made it.

I told the cops if they would like to come back in a couple days I would have the pipe made into the water trap and they could check it out. I went back to the guy where I bought the pipe and told him he could forget about getting any more business from me.

In the end the water trap works well. Havent had any moisture in the airline for a loooooong time.
