I'd put your entire operating system and programs on one drive.
All personal data on the other.
As for processors, the sky is the limit, so to speak. Start by looking .

BUT, how would i do that? just take out the HDD and put it in the comp, or do i format it? or do i leave the drivers for the HDD? do i need to keep ANY files on the 2nd HDD?

You do not have to format the second drive before you install it.
You can format it after installation or just delete everything on the drive

The first thing that you need to do is set the jumpers on the back of the second hard drive to “Slave”.

Next check the jumpers on your current "Master" hard drive,
make sure that they are set to "Master" and not "Single" or "Cable Select".

Install the hard drive into the drive rack and secure it,
connect the second connector from the current “Master” ribbon cable to the second hard drive.

Be careful with the direction of the ribbon cable connection. In older systems you can put them on backwards.
Make sure the red edge of the ribbon cable is in line with Pin 1 on the drive.
If you can't see Pin 1 marked, then it is usually the pin closest to the power connector.

Now connect the four-wire power connector, that’s it you should now boot-up with two hard drives.

I should warn you that older motherboards might not support hard drives larger than 2 Gigs
without a BIOS upgrade or a Disk Manager like EZ Drive.
