Aol /Real player popup

Postby Andyedoba » Sun Jun 08, 2003 8:20 am

Somebody please tell me how to stop the popup window that comes on when I try to logon to Aol after I deleted Real player. I do not need Real player, so deleted it. Now when ever I start Aol, this popup window comes up telling me a file is missing. I know this and I want the file to stay missing, but I am fed up of the popup window. Please help. 8O

did you un-install real player through the add/remove programs control pannel? If it was deleted improperly you will probably have problems. If you did delete it properly, try either re-installing real player and immediatly uninstalling it OR re-install AOL over top of itself

You could also try to run a program like Norton WinDoctor (a part of Norton Utilities) <---- great program - not free and see if that takes care of it.

Let us know how you made out!!

hm ya , add//remove programs if u didnt go threw these Re-install realplayer , and re-uninstall it (lol that sounds funny) .. neways

Aol is personally the worst isp made ever i belive... you should switch to juno ... juno broadband is almost HALF the price .. and there tech support KICKS. .. also they arnt being stupid . they dont install 3rd party programs , like Save now . for example on your pc to give you annoying popups ( one of the reasons i hate them) .

if u never want to see error messages again , and your a pc tech or such ... remove them from the registry. or find someone local who can do it.

(note : upon un-installation of certain programs .. ( ex.. AOL , COMPUSERVE , AIM , REALPLAYER , IE , ICQ , MIRC , ext ext ext ) ( there are alot of programs) that leave files on your pc even AFTER doing add/remove programs. Even tho they dont like to admit it :P
