Memory to full potential?

Postby bsxiong » Wed Mar 02, 2005 11:06 pm

hey guys,

well great thing. My 1gb of memory just arrived in only 3 days. considering i ordered on sunday. Well my question is that. i dont seem to see any difference in my computer. I see "just" a little bit but not much. I first had 256mb. Well is there any way of making the computer realizing that i have this much memory?

I've check my properties on my computer already and it did say "1.25gb". but still, i really don't see any difference.

Help me out here guys, what can i do to make sure that it's a lot faster than it use to be.? or is it that it doesn't make much difference?

:(

you should definatly see a difference from 256 to 1.2 but its mainly going to be in the "smoothness" of opening applications, processing large documents, gaming and such.

Try pulling the 256 chip. A lot of systems cannot reconize over 1 gig of regular memory unless its ECC memory.

If thats the case, your system might reconize the 1.2 gig, but have problems using it.

Check your motherboard manual, if it says 1 gig total, then remove the 256 module
