CD-Rom not detected...

Postby RCP » Wed Mar 02, 2005 9:12 pm

Previously, my hard drive could not be detected. I solved that by adjusting some S-ATA settings in BIOS. But now my CD-Rom (I only have one) cant be detected. I cant select it in BIOS as a boot device. What is wrong?

check to see in the main bios screen if the ide for the cdrom is set to none. That would make it fail on boot. If thats the case, set it to auto.

Auto is a good starting place for all of your hard drives and cdroms. Usually there is another option in the bios to reconize the drives. Use that after you have everything working. This will identify the drives and change the auto config to what it should be.
