Ahh people problem, theres this movie that ive wanted for sooo long, but you can only buy it on DVD in region 1 (American) and me being english, i need region 2 but you can only buy it on tape. Well my luck changed becuase recently the movie was on tele, the movie is Good Burger. I taped the file becuase i want it, but i also got my grandad to record the movie on his dvd recorder which is hooked up to his tele. Like a tape recorder but it records on to dvd-ram. Well alls well i thought, until i just put the disk in my pc and when i try and open the disk so i can copy the movie onto 1 of my dvd-r's the drive says please insert disk.
Im guessing that its not reading the dvd-ram disk, so erm... help please.
I really need this movie n im gonna be p***ed if im stuck with it on tape for ages.
There must be ways around it not reading it, because i know you cant read gamecube games and make images from them but theres certain software that lets you do it, so im guessing theres the same sort of thing for this dvd-ram.

Please help
Much apprichated

dvd-ram is a type of media, like dvd+r and dvd-r and dvd-rom. Its just a type of media.

I have to dvd drives, 1 is a dvd writer and the other is just a dvd drive.

Hmm thats weird, are you sure they copied properly on the DVD recorder ? because my friend copied me some films off sky digital using his dvd recorder and worked fine on my comp. Does it not detect the DVD at all ? or you trying to play it using DVD software?

When the dvd-ram is burnt should it not change to dvd-rom (booktype) :?: and be able to be played in any DVD drive.

Its a re-recordable 1 as well, recorded from a dvd recorder, like an actual dvd player/recorder plugged into the tv

Been looking at pioneer's site and your 106 does not support DVD-RAM, & tried looking at Sony's site & what a crap site that is, so i am thinking your sony dvd-rom doesn't support it either. :(
