OK i get that Thanks. So I would connect the modem/router to my telephone line and then each pc using cat5 cables is this correct?.

Since you say phone line I am assuming it's DSL. If you purchase a modem/router then yes. Some DSL setups have a seperate DSL modem that you can connect to the router and then all your PCs to the router as well.
