Theses Boards are Dead :(

Postby Freddie » Wed Nov 12, 2003 9:44 pm

I have found that there seem to be less and less people using these boards every day... I am not sure why. The are friendly and the people always help. Do you think that there are less and less people using these boards than there used to be? I for one do. If only there were more people. Just my opinion. Thanks for reading.

Good observation Freddie. I have been working hard on making these boards friendly and fun. The more people we can get to share like you, the better they will be. What I find is that a lot of people log on, post a problem, get thier answer, and don't come back until another problem crops up.

Any suggestions on what we can do to make them stay?

Well i think that if there were more people then there would be more questions, more questions, we varity more people will know the ansers. I don't know programming but i know how to overclock. If there were more people then it would be a better place for all. I will have a think on it anyway.

pay them 100$ for every post. If you cant afford that though, I would send out more emails, and try to get more members by advertising.

I don't think less and less people are using the boards, I just think there are more and more boards, so the posts are spread more thinly. At the end of the day it just comes down to spreading the word - hopefully people will find out that we're helpful & friendly, and will direct their friends here when they need help :)

What if I paid everyone $1 to tell a friend. How much money do you think I will spend?

I have to admit.. I tend only to remember the board when I come across a problem I can't fix.. Finding time to browse any board of any kind is tough for me these days.. and I just don't get to post everywhere.. I'm sure others have the same problem..

But it's true that you don't want to get to the stage where the only posters are mods.. you need an active user base too... somehow.. just don't ask me how.. :)

Postby antikz » Sat Jan 31, 2004 8:13 pm

i know its an old post but i was just mooching around reading old posts as you do and i thought to myself :?:  how about a live chat forum i dont know what the costs would be or whether it could work but on other sites i have been too they have this facility and it seems to attract a constant stream of users and would be a good way of getting to know your fellow pc tinkerers :P just a suggestion
