Welcome to set up wizard

Postby gooner1 » Tue May 10, 2005 5:44 pm

Hi all..

I have this rather annoying pop up box on Start-up. I guess i must of tried to install something that only runs on NT. Trouble is i cant remember what it was.??

It pops up on Startup with the message.."Welcome to the set up wizard. Set up cannot continue on Windows NT based systems". Cick to end set up.

Ok. Everything works fine after i click exit. I have looked on the Comp and cant find anything there thats been left over..I suspect its probably a Registry thing. BUT I find the Registry a scary place.. Has anyone come across this sort of thing themselves and know how i can get rid of this rather annoying box...

Oh.....I'm Win XP by the way.

Thanks.
Mark.

It is most likely a registry thing as you said
the thing that we need to know is the name of the program that’s calling this up.

Download HijackThis you will find a link in the upper left of this forum under “Helpful Weblinks”
Extract it to it’s own directory and run Hijackthis,
click the “Open the Misc. Tools section” button
put a check in the box “List also minor sections (full)”
click the “Generate startuplist log” button, click yes
now copy the contents of the log and paste it into new post in this thread.
