Memory compatibilty

i got some new parts, and i was wondering would ddr333 memory work in a ddr400 motherboard and a 3.2ghz 800mhz fsb, because when i put my comp together it would not start at all, i had everything fine, so i want to kno if that was the problem before i claim my mobo as doa thanks

Normally it will work, really depends on what board you have. If you have the info on it, (make and model) post it.

Did you get any beeps?
Do any of the drives power up?, try to eject a cdrom drive
Any active lights or anything?
