This is a strange one. I have a USB PCI card installed in my XP system and whenever something is attached to it my PC refuses to SHUTDOWN and RESTARTS instead. :s

Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery section
Settings button > System Failure section > check the box 'Write an event to the system log'
and uncheck Automatically Restart
Now when you shut sown you should bet a BSOD with an error message.
Write down this error message and code and post them back here
This way we can resolve you problem.

Erm,actually Gecko Im a bit confused about the error message log. I set up a mini dump thingy and when I looked at it all I got was a text document full of squares and circles. I then tried a full dump thingy and then get loads of text documents labelled KB891781 etc. Should I be getting these results and what should I be posting on here?
