Print Server Problem

Postby cjs6a » Tue Jul 05, 2005 5:26 pm

I installed a Linksys PSUS-4 print server. Gave it a static IP address. The printer installed is a Dell 720 photoprinter. When I send a test page to the printer the page prints fine, but the Dell print status bar only goes to 99% . In the spooler status it says the job has printed and it is being deleted. It never deletes so I have to reboot the PC to clear the job.

I tried deleting the printer, re-installing the linksys software but nothing seems to work.

Any help is greatly appreciated !!!!

Not sure why you used Linksys drivers for the Dell Printer. All you should have to do once you give the print server an IP is map that printer by IP using the Dell drivers.

Do you have to use a print server? Why not hook the printer up locally?

Just a follow up to my problem. I got rid of the Dell 720 and installed an HP5650 that my kid had. Took 10 min to download the drivers and install. Now it works fine with the print server !!!
