Time randomly changing...

Postby Junior_co » Wed Jul 06, 2005 6:05 am

Every now and then, my computer's time will be off. It is usually is off by 1hr increments...
It has now happened to both of my computers which are networked.... Don't know if that makes a lick of difference....

Any idea why this would be happening??

Your CMOS battery may not be holding a charge. Its wierd that it would happen in more than one machine at the same time but you never know. :|

Gecko, I'm living in Colorado, but am impressed that you thought of that. Never would have crossed my mind.

Limp, Yours is an interesting thought too. The first computer has been running for about 2 1/2 yrs, and the second is about 4 1/2 yrs old but hasn't been run for the last 2 yrs... I'll look into changing those....

Can ya buy CMOS batteries in a regular store??

Good on ya
