Hey there bsxiong,
I'll try and answer some of your questions for ya...
Doing a quick search on this this Video card left the impression that yes it is a dual output video card. If your thinking about picking one up, I would say do it if the price is good. Once you use dual monitors you'll hate using a single monitor and will never want to do it again.
Assuming that you are using XP (not sure about other platforms) set up of these are usually pretty easy.... (note I said usually). Right click on your desk top and click on the settings tab. you should see two monitors shown... you will want to click on the #2 and then check the" expand my desktop to this monitor" box... If life is good it will work just fine with that and you'll be on your way..... If not post your questions/frustrations here and we'll do our best to get ya straightend out....
A couple of notes on using multiple monitors....
1: Yes, you can use different sized monitors ( I have 3 monitors: 21" CRT, a 18" LCD, and a 20" CRT) and it will work just fine....BUT you need to make sure that the resolution on each monitor is set to the same settings.... Sometimes it will work ok if they are not, but you can run into problems when you try to stretch a window across them both....
2: The selection of "make this my primary monitor" checkbox (next to the stretch the desktob checkbox) in the settings section is a funky thing. You will run into some programs that will act funky when used on the secondary monitor. A classic example of this is when you right click on an email in Outlook Express. When you do this the options/selection box will only pop up on the primary monitor. Also the Windows log in screen uses the primary monitor... It'll take some time before you start to get it all figured out (i've been running muliple monitors for 2 yrs and still don't)
3: When in the settings tab, you can relocate where a monitor sets by clicking on a monitor and dragging it around. This will move the #1 monitor to the left or the the right of the #2 monitor. I've never tried to put one monitor above another one, but it looks like it can be done that way.... Use the Identify button to help figure out what is where.....
4: You may want to look into UltraMon. Do a google search and it should be the top hit. It is multi monitor software that looks interesting. I have not tried it out yet, but they have a 30 day trial period. after that I think it's around $60 USD.....
5: I notice that you were talking about the VGA adapters.... They are expensive... ($30 USD when I went looking) Keep that in mind, as it is a sneeky additional cost.
Good luck and hope this helps....
