Gaming Computer Setup

Postby VampBlades » Wed Jul 27, 2005 3:22 pm

Im currently trying to build a decent gaming computer. I looked around and i found what I think to be a decent setup for a computer. I wanted to run it through you guys to see what you think. here is the setup:

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

BFG Tech BFGR78256GTXOC Geforce 7800GTX 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester Integrated into Chip FSB Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3200BIBOX - Retail

CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model VS1GBKIT400 - Retail

What i want to know is, is this all compatible together, and will it make a decent gaming computer. It has been a while since i built the one that im using and its kind of going.... shall we say..... dull..... thx in advance for all your help guys.

P.S. Yes, i know the Geforce 7800GTX is a little overkill... but isn't that what we gamers like ;-) a little bit of overkill :-D

Sounds like a great system. Make sure you cool everything as much as possible.

im keeping my old harddrive but i want to add a little bit more to it :-P . I have about 3 case fans but im also NOT overclocking anything. lol.

Do you still think it will overheat? i keep the wires bound up and I keep it in a nice open space and always monitor the temp.

P.S. im getting it all for $999.99 on www.newegg.com

AMD's just run very hot. That and then add a high end video that runs hot spells heat issue. I keep the side off of mine. May not look pretty but it gets the job done.

Ha ha, nice lil insults there. First of all, I’m not the only person who lives near Southampton on this forum, 2 you aren’t cool or hard so don’t talk like that, 3 grow up, and 4 you can be banned from the forum for swearing. Try reading the rules

And 'above ur station wid me' what the hell are you on about? Your making your self look like more of a fool each time you write something.
