Please copy this to Notepad and print it. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.
You should not have any open windows when you are following the procedures below.
Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:
O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {827DC836-DD9F-4A68-A602-5812EB50A834} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljg.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Start Page] c:\windows\system32\1.bat
O20 - Winlogon Notify: mlljg - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljg.dll
O23 - Service: AVG6 Service (AvgServ) - Unknown owner - C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG6\avgserv.exe (file missing)
Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Remember to reset these when done.
Start HijackThis and click the Open the misc tools section now click Delete a file on reboot
Select the following file to be deleted on reboot:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljg.dll
Click open but click no to reboot now do the same for each of the following files:
c:\windows\system32\1.bat
Now, empty all your TEMP Folders, Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your Recycle Bin, reboot and post a new HiJackThis log.

Please copy this to Notepad and print it. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.
You should not have any open windows when you are following the procedures below.
Restart Windows in safe mode
After you see the BIOS screen and before Windowes starts to load.
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears.
Use the Arrow key to ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
Close all other open Windows and start HiJackThis check the below But do not Fix yet:

Now click the Config... button, next click Open Process manager
Put a check in the Show DLLs box (upper right)
Now in the top half click on c:\windows\explorer.exe
Scroll down the list in the lower window and find C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljg.dll
Select it and click on the Kill process button
Click on the Back button (lower right) and now click Fix and close HijackThis
Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Remember to reset these when done.
Delete the following Files/Folders if they exist:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljg.dll
Now, empty all your TEMP Folders, Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your Recycle Bin, reboot and post a new HiJackThis log.

OK I have done ALL the suggested steps you described but STILL seem to have the offending articles!!! The mlljg.dll refuses to be deleted!! In Hijack this the C:\windows\explorer.exe didnt even show up although C:\WINDOWS| Programs\ieexplorer.exe did??. I will leave this new log in your capable hands.

Please download Process Explorer by Sysinternals from:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/f...e/procexp.shtml
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select your Operating System.
Unzip it to its own folder on the desktop so you can find it later.
Download and install Advanced Process Manipulation:
http://www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=apm
Now download and unzip it directly to the rootdirectory
(the file should now be here: C:\ mlljgfix.reg)
Now reboot into safe mode:
Open Process Explorer.
Scroll down in the main window and find winlogon.exe
Right click on winlogon.exe and select Suspend
Leave Process Explorer open.
Now run HijackThis and put checkmarks in front of these two lines:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8E13DDE1-E013-47ec-9C4C-27C2F78BDD26} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljg.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: mlljg - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\mlljg.dll
Do NOT fix them yet
Now open Advanced Process Manipulation.
Scroll down in the main window and find c:\windows\explorer.exe
Click on the entry and that will display a list of files in the second window.
Scroll down the list in the second window and find C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljg.dll
Right click on that entry and select Unload DLL
you will now lose your Start Bar and Desktop Icons. This is normal.
Leave Advanced Process Manipulation open
Go back to Process Explorer window.
Click File > Run
In the run box type regedit.exe /s C:\ mlljgfix.reg
Back in Advanced Process Manipulation.
Scroll down in the main window and find c:\windows\system32\winlogon.exe

Hi Gecko Sorry to be a pain but still no joy!!. First of all I downloaded and installed all of the folders, and followed your instructions. opened Process Explorer right clicked on the file and was greeted by the message "Access denied"!!. Secondly the 02 BHO (no Name) which you pointed out was not there!?. Thirdly my screen went black before I could get much further?? The hijack this log seems identical to the others I posted (so I wont annoy you with another). This is really getting to be a Personal battle with the Poxy mlljg.dll now. Thanks for trying.

The %windir% command is like a wild card for finding the Windows directory.
If you open a command window (dos window) and type cd %windir% and press Enter.
You will be placed in the window’s directory, so the bat file should have worked except.
The mlljg.dll is being registered twice once by Explorer and once by Winlogin (see below)

restoring your registry would only make things worse and as icecube pointed out.
This option would be gone if system restore was disabled as was suggested.
I think that if you even tried to boot from your Windows XP CD you will still not
be able to delete this file because you have to logon even to do a repair.
I think the best way to go about doing this would be to download a Win98 boot disk you can get one from
Creat the Win98 bootable floppy and leave it in the drive
Next you will need
Download the file ntfsinst.exe and run it, after it is installed it will add the NTFS4DOS to the floppy.
Once this is all done reboot your system with the floppy still in the drive.
At the command prompt type ntfs4dos.exe and press enter
Type cd c:\windows\system32 and press enter
Now type del mlljg.dll and press enter
Remove the floppy and reboot the system the mlljg.dll file should be gone at last.

Hi guys, I have just came home from work and discovered your latest reply. I tried the "Floppy" version and all went swimmingly well until the very last bit where I had to enter del mlljg.dll, the reply was "File not found" NOW I am Really P****ed off `cos I know it is there!!

Reboot your system with the floppy you made in the drive.
At the command prompt type ntfs4dos.exe and press enter
Type attrib -s -r -h mlljg.dll and press enter
Type cd c:\windows\system32 and press enter
Now type del mlljg.dll and press enter
That should do it
