PC Monitor and Power Supply Connector

Postby patkim » Mon Sep 19, 2005 1:07 pm

I find that there are two ways (configurations) when it comes to powering the PC Monitor
1. PC’s Power supply to Monitor
2. Mains socket to monitor

Is any of the above combination more preferred or appropriate? Or is it just the arrangement.

Also I suppose the monitor power chord has a plug fitting into only one of the above types, either power chord that would plug into mains or to back panel of PC’s power supply.
So I believe this is a consideration when selecting for PC Power Supply and CRT Monitor..

It really makes no difference except that I would prefer to plug each item directly into a socket so that you aren't over drawing on one line.
