does anyone have an ipod?

Postby bsxiong » Fri Sep 23, 2005 1:17 am

hi all,

Well, i've been trying to put new mp3s from my computer to my mp3 player for the past days and it's a bother to me becuase it can't seem to fit a large file that i'm trying to transfer also from my computer to my mp3 player. :(:(

I was wondering if these "Ipods" can just transfer mp3 directly to them without having to " sync " it over. In other mp3 players, you could just drag and drop and play, but i've remember hearing from someone that you can't do that with ipods, you have to use itunes to sync all of your music over to your ipod.

is this true? Dang it, if it's true, then i guess it's too bad for me.

Hello there.

I have an ipod and i love it. As for itunes, yea you have to like sync it over, load up itunes and change anything you want, names and that. And then click the update button update.

How ever, there are 3rd party programs which you can use with the ipod which allow drag and drop, but its really not worth using that. If you used a drag and drop feature it would be really hard to find the exzact song you want to use we all know mp3's arent labled perfectly.

Only problem i find with itunes and the ipod it sometimes doesnt recognise the ipod is connected, and it always takes ages to appear on itunes. Like if i go to my computer i see my ipod is connected, and i have to wait a bit longer for the ipod to actually connect in itunes.

Hope ive been of somehelp, if theres any other questions about ipods ask away

Have you noticed with the ipod the poor battery life. I took mine back i got an Iriver instead. Much better than an Ipod.

My battery is fine.
But I do agree, allot of people get problems with their batteries, but if you follow the charging patterns properly you should be fine.
It has cut out before, but its because you need to use them regularly.
