Making Wireless Connection Work

Postby jwe » Thu Oct 13, 2005 4:45 pm

I have a Compaq Presario 1200 I use as a back-up laptop. I added a larger disc and put XP on it and its fine. BUT, a bought a D-Link wireless card and can't get the PC to access a wireless network. I had a similar problem with my Presario 2500 and a help desk person (for a hotel wireless provider) stepped me through getting it connected and that resolved its problem. I can't remember the steps but we ended up "Pinging" the wireless providers site to get the log-in screen. Seems like IE didn't recognise the wireless connection. I'd like to get my back-up working.
