Is it possible that you are using two differnet versions of Office? One at school and the other at home?

What ever you create at home with 2003 would have to be saved to the right data base extension for the version at school you would be using. Otherwise it would choke on it. You could however go the other way with no problem.. Office 2003 will even allow you to save an Excel worksheet as a Lotus123 file.

If thats not the case, what type data base extensions are you using (saving them as)?

There is one other thing that can mess up thing, and that would be a macro virus. I hope your virus signature files are up to date.

Search for a file called normal.dot and delete it.

This is the Office templet file, if its corrupted or infected, it can mess things up.

The file recreates itself the next time you open up office, it would however set your settings to the factory defaults

If you are using Windows XP, normal.dot is a hidden system file and may not show when you search for it. If you can't find it, go into My Computer and click on the Tools menu and choose Folder Options. In there, click on the View Tab and put a check where it says "Show hidden files and folders" and UNCHECK "Hide extensions for known file types" and "Hide protected operating system files". Now, when you search for it, you should find it. If you still can't find it, look for it here:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

It sounds like your Msjtes40.dll is not correctly registered.

Quit Access if it is open.
Click Start, and then click Run.
Type the following line in the Open box, and then click OK:
regsvr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\msjtes40.dll
(this is assuming that you have installed windows in the above path line if not adjust accordingly)
Restart Access and try to open a database table it should work now. :)
