Postby adam_yetsko » Mon Jan 09, 2006 5:57 am

Hi i am new to this forum my computer keeps crashing. if i dont do anything i can just leave it on and it will stay on without crashing but when i use it for naything after about 30 - 45 min it crashes i dont get an error or anything just a reboot. i am pretty sure it is not a temp problem i ran a burn in program on it and the temp hold steady at about 54 c at full load wich should be fine. could this just be a software glitch should i try to do a full reinstall or does it sound like hardware.

Hey Adam,
What exactly do you mean by crashing, are you getting blue screens? is it rebooting or shutting down completely?

Heres something else you can do to help us narrow it down.

Right click My Computer and go to properties
Click the Advanced Tab
Under the Startup and Recovery section, click the Settings Button
Place a check in the "Write an event to the system log" box
UNCHECK "Automaticly restart"

The next time it crashes, you should get a blue screen error. Write down the message and code. Reboot the machine and once your back up, right click My Computer and go to Manage. Click the plus by event viewer then click system. To the right you should see an error, double click it and post the contents of it along with the blue screen message and code. With all that, we should be able to find out the cause of the problem.

This looks like it could be the trying to hide itself on the drive.

Do you have a file called:
C:\windows\SYSTEM32\mszx23.exe
