Codec question

Postby robbro » Fri Jan 20, 2006 2:01 am

Just a lttle question about codecs. I recently tried to join two AVI files together at the time i did this i got an error saying the audio differs in the two files. Then when it completed the operation of merging the two no sound was out put.

Is there anyway i can check the codec the software used and why no sound is being played ? or should i just guess the file is no good(corrupted) and no sound codec was implimented during the merge?

 hope someone can help me :| if they understand what im on about of course ;)

Hey robbro, theres a great little tool just for that i happened across quite a while back. Its called . Open it and point it to the avi file(s) and it will tell you the codecs used in it.

While im thinking about it, what did you use to join them?

is suppose to have the ability to join different formats together. You can download a free trial and find out.

Heres another one too
