Endless Atempt to Access CD Drive, Lock-Up

Hey, Hopefuly I posted this in the right section.

My problem is when I try to access my CD drive windows explorer locks up in a endless atempt to access it. The system then appears to be running fine but programs won't open up. Everything else runs fine, and if I don't load from cd, theres no lock ups. The CD Drive shows up fine, and was working for months. Sometimes when I restart and open the drive it will work. I have updated MCAFREE and Microsoft Anti-Spam and don't think this is a Virus/Spyware problem.

Things that might have to do with it:
I recently Installed Alcohol and have a virtual drive (that I also am not sure how to get rid of).

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
