Restoring MS Outlook Icon on Desktop

Postby Jas0n » Sat Feb 18, 2006 2:37 pm

Ok, this is a long stupid story of mine. Yeah i shouldnt have done it, but i was tempted....
Well, i was checking out the WinXP themes and thought yeah i want a different on, so i got StyleXP and got some themes. Installed and a fiddle around and then thought, nah they look cr4ppy. So i uninstalled it, now when i uninstalled it, my MS Outlook icon on my desktop went missing, like its still there, just its not the orignal icon that it should be, instead its the icon that is a white paper with a lil program box. ( one of them unknown icons)
So how do i get back my Outlook icon?
I tried a system restore to yesterday, but wen i went into My Computer i had a few folders that were duplicated. And yeah i freaked so i undid the System restore.
Oh and with the Style XP it came with a few themes and they didnt seem to get removed while uninstalling style XP, so how do i remove them manually?

Thanks

...man im like freaking out...

normally to change the icon, right click on it, go to properties and then there should be a box saying "change icon".
However I just checked if I could do it to mine and that box is greyed out. You might have to find the original .exe and then right click and do "send to desktop". This will make a shortcut on your desktop and hopefully give its picture back.

Concerning the files it left behind, im not sure. I dont want to say find the main folder and delete it because that could do more harm than good. Also, could be stuff scatterd here and there.
I guess you could leave the themes where they are and not use them if they arent taking up much space. If I'm understanding this correctly.
