computer crashes when adding huge files to WMV

Postby bsxiong » Wed Mar 01, 2006 12:10 am

hi all,

I've been having this problem ever since i built my computer a couple of years ago. Whenever i try to drag numberous amount of audio/video files into windows media player, my computer crashes. The power just go out and i have to restart it all over again. any idea. it crashes even with i drag like 3 files that sized around 600mb each.

I know i have enough memory and everything, but i don't know why this prob is happening like this. please help.

My only thought is that your power supply is failing under pressure. 500 watts should be enough BUT it either doesnt put out enough amperage or its simply going out. Power supply's are tricky, wattage isnt everything. Heres some information about determining a power supply's actual power rating but be warned that this page has a couple pop-ups.
