hey there, i have windows xp MEDIA EDITION! just wondering how i can reformat?? ie) reinstall windows.

usually i just chuck the disc in for xp home and pro, but i dont hav a disc, nor have any idea where i can get one for xp media edition.

any ideas anyone? cheers.

rohaninabout,

If your system came loaded with Windows media edition pre installed then there should be a way to restore it.
Most systems come with a partition on the drive with the system restore located there.
Try looking in Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools for the manufactures system restore utility.

Is this a branded computer such as a Gateway, HP, Dell etc.? Manufacturers are suppose to supply the end user with a windows disk, if its a custom machine that was bought from a computer shop it should also have a disk. If you wasnt given one, they owe you one.



do you have a sticker on the case anywhere with the media center cd key?

hey there. i bought the computer off a friend who had it custom made from parts at a computer shop.

and yes i have a key, but im not posting it on this forum :P
