ok here is the sit. i have an hp7850 (biggest mistake of my life) and it has 4mb intel integrated graphics. I have been wanting to play other games besides half life or the sims, so i wanted to get an fx 5200 pci card(i have to get pci becuase i have no agp) so that i could play some of todays games. I will list some of these so you can get an idea: cnc generals, americas army, ut2k3, the sims 2, rise of nations, counter strike condition zero, etc, etc. Here are my system specs p3 933, 256 megs of ram, 40gig hd, intel extreme graphics (4mb). i could up grade the ram to 512 if needed.

Howdy ryan,

To my knowledge there are 3 fx 5200 cards.64,128 and 256...which are you concidering?(i would go with at least a 128)You should certainly upgrade your ram if you can.More ram is always a good thing (especially for an HP!!)Your CPU should be fine as long as it stays cool and you upgrade you vid and ram.Im sure someone else here can give you some advise on this too.

Well... I think that 64mb will do the trick for all of the games out right now... but If you wanna play Halflife2 or Doom3 then bust out the cash and throw in a 128mb card. Its a shame that you havent a agp slot because I would recomend a ATI radeon 9600pro.. its cheap and it will play the games like the big boy cards will. how mutch money are you looking to spend? because you might be able to just buy another Mobo and an AGP card.

Tornado GeForce4 MX440B PCI w/128MB DDR (128 Bits) + DVI + TV out $68[/url] <---one of several options.Dont spend money on a 64 meg card that your only going to upgrade later.Theres not alot of price difference.Take a look around
