New MSI Motherboard problem immediate response pls.

All computer hardware support

New MSI Motherboard problem immediate response pls.

Postby denio60 » Sun Aug 12, 2007 11:43 pm

When I see the XP logo
the computer restarts itself. when I first start the computer it recognizes the hard drive in the black screen, however, when I put the XP CD in to reinstall the system, it tells me there are no hard drives "make sure the cables are plugged properly...etc." when I go into BIOS it shows the hard drive installed. Also, even though I properly put the HDD LED in it does not show any light in the front. I tried the Hard drive with different SATA Cables in different spots but still no response.
immediate response pls.

Hello denio60 and welcome to our forum.

During the win xp install did you use the F6 option to install the sata drivers?

You get that option right after the “Setup is Inspecting your Computers Hardware Configuration”
Near the bottom of the screen it will say “Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver.”

For the hard drive light, reverse the two wires to the hd pins on the motherboard. It should lite up

Thank you guys. I did everything you said but it did not work. I decided to return the MSI motherboard and get a Gigabyte instead. I haven't received it yet, but hopefully it will work.

I appreciate for your responses.
