Astragoth,

If explorer.exe is not set to "deny" by TrendMicro, suggest you look at this link regarding MS update KB938828
http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/asp ... start.aspx and try uninstalling it in safe mode

Didn't work

Postby Astragoth » Wed Sep 05, 2007 11:07 am

Gecko,

It didn't work. Went into safe mode, ran option 2, rebooted into normal mode, logged in, and it came up with the error.
So I went back to safe mode, ran VundoFix, ran option 2 again, it rebooted, went back to normal mode, same thing happened. Error came up again.

This laptop is really starting to frustrate me, lol.

Any other options would be great. Only bad thing is the client is wanting her laptop back ASAP.

Thanks for all your help so far,

Astragoth.

P.S. Is there anyway to get on to you faster, rather than posting here, and waiting ages for a reply. I don't want to sound rude or ungrateful for all of your help, just the client is getting a bit impatient, thats all. Sorry if I sound rude though.

Astragoth,

I'm starting to run out of options here, so after some searching and reading you really should try uninstalling the MS update KB938828
Use the control panel's add or remove programs to uninstall KB938828.

Problem solved

Postby Astragoth » Thu Sep 06, 2007 3:35 pm

Hey Gecko,

I uninstalled KB938828 in safe mode, rebooted, then went back into normal mode, and ALL the programs worked! I also did some searching of my own, and found many people had the same problem with this ms update, and had the same error that I had as well.

Thanks for all your help on this, you have been very kind.

I guess you can close this topic now.

Thanks again,

Astragoth
