Sound Distortion

Postby therealmasterb » Sat Sep 15, 2007 10:04 pm

Running Vista Ultimate 32 bit, 2 gb RAM, P4 2.53 GHz. Using onboard sound Realtek AC97.
Every time im connected to the internet, or using my wireless adapter, music playback is slowed and distorted for about 3 seconds every couple minutes and it gets very annoying. Currently have the most up to date driver for the AC97 fully compatible with vista. Disabling the wireless adapter causes music playback to operate normally. Somebody please tell me what i need to do coreect this. Thanks

Thats a tough one, im not that familliar with Vista but i can tell you that sometimes wireless signals and sound just dont get along. The first thing i would try is moving your speakers away from the PC if possible, im saying this because its a small chance that the wireless signal from the network card is causing an interference with the speakers amplifier. I know cell phones cause sound distortions on the same principals.

Apart from that, update the network card drivers if available.
